The white barn is so modern and has a beautiful pond that is amazing for pictures. The owners are the absolute best! They are so helpful with planning, setting up and making the clean up process easy! They allow for outside decor but also provide items such as linens, tables, chairs, ect. Dawna Petrosky(parent)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2012 The day was what we hoped for and were very happy with how it all turned out. The weather was just right, the atmosphere was terrific and of course the bride and groom were magnificent.\r\rI can't thank you enough for all the ways that you were so accommodating to us. Right down to making our granddaughters antics a part of the ceremony! I hope that in return we were easy to work with as well. \r\rThere are only a few things in which I think you could improve that would enhance your business...even though you accommodated us with the appetizers for the cocktail hour, I think it would benefit your venue to enlarge you menu options. The food was good but you have to keep in mind not everyone wants beans and potato salad for their meal. Since bringing in an outside caterer is not an option you should consider offering more options.\r\rNext I think you would draw in more potential wedding clients (or even parties) by expanding your table area. This could be easily done by knocking out that wall dividing off the one area by the buffet line/back area. It may require support beams (that you could wrap in lights), but in the long run the seating area would be less crowded and would offer a better dance area where people are not stumbling on each other.\r\rSince we were the type of group that liked to gather outside and visit, a nice idea would be to have small outside tables and chairs for people to sit at. Enlarging the patio area would also be beneficial. You have the area just off the covered patio that you could easily convert into a garden area with paths and walkways and have benches nestled along the paths.\r\rAnd lastly, I am sure this is not the first time this has been mentioned, but expanding/enlarging the dock would make having intimate ceromonies over the water much easier. Granted it all worked out for us, but since the walkway is so narrow it made it difficult for the bride and groom to walk together.\r\rThose are just a few suggestions that I thought would make a difference to your business in the future. I know that it could end up being costly but it would pay off in the end.\r\rWe had a lot of people comment on how lovely the venue was, how the simple personal touches we had used made people feel special and that they thought it was a fabulous location. We definitely had a wonderful time and left feeling like our wedding experience was perfect!\r\rAgain Thank You Chris and Rosanna for doing all you could to make our families feel like our day was the most important one on your calendar!! Danielle Baudrau(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2012 I dont even know where to start! My husband and I looked high and low around the Dallas/ Fort Worth area for a barn like setting for our September wedding. We saw a few places and just when we were debating to settle, Wildscape Ranch popped up. First off, the venue was very easy to get to. There was more than enough parking space for all of our guests. There were attendants there not only to park but also to monitor the pond area so that the little ones wouldnt horse around there and fall in. The pond is beautiful with a quaint little dock that we decided to marry on. We decorated it with daisy garlands and at night, the railing lit up and it was beautiful! The barn is not just any old barn, it has been redone and it is strung with lights that are very tastefully done. The decor inside is entirely appropriately done especially with the setting outside. It isnt overdone and flows very well. They also have set up a little room inside the barn that is covered for the bride and bridal party to get ready in. There is a giant mirror on one side and a smaller one at a table inside, so there is more than enough room for everyone to get ready. They really have thought of everything that they can to completely accomidate the bride. Outside the barn, there was a covered patio complete with fans, lighting and a bar area. It was perfect especially at the time of the year we married. The venue set up definitely makes for amazing pictures! Onto the ceremony, Chris did our ceremony and he was wonderful, even though our three year old was running up and down the dock. She lowered the tension level of my groom and I. I think she stole the show. :) Rosana did our engagement photos and our wedding photos and they are amazing! I would definitely reccommend that you use her as your photographer as well. She knows all of the angles and poses and layouts that are condusive to the venue. Our reception was also wonderful. We used their Dj, his name is Dan Vandergriff. He was perfect and knew what songs to play. He would play \"classics\" for the old folks all the way up to \"club music\" for the younger crowd. Our food was also amazing. We had the BBQ package which could be modified however you would like. Chris will work with you on whatever you would like. I would suggest the smoked sausage and brisket. It was really well cooked and that was important to me especially since we had so much family from Canada coming to visit. The sides were also wonderful. And if you arent feeling the BBQ, there are other options such as tex/mex. I cannot stop bragging about how amazing and wonderful this venue was! If you are looking for a quaint country setting, do not look any further! You have found your venue! I swear to you that you will NOT regret it! Trust me because I researched the hell out of everything Dallas/ Fort Worth offered. Oh! The prices are VERY reasonable! They can accomidate a range of budgets and are more than willing to work with you on every little detail you can think of! You are missing out completely on the most important day of your life if you do not book here. FYI: the pictures do not do it justice. You MUST check this place out! Reviewed on 17-09-2012
Jennifer Abrams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2011 My dream was to have a wedding in a barn and since my then fiance (now new hubby!) grew up in the Texas Hill Country he and his family we're really into the concept too. My wedding was last October and we didn't have any flex in our date. I had to hire a wedding coordinator (she was wonderful...my new bf!) since I was finishing my last semester of school and really needed help. She was actually the one who led me to Wildscape Ranch. She had done one other wedding there a couple of years before. \rI fell in love my first visit. The pictures on their website were good, but seeing it in person is a must! The barn was rustic with just the right touch of elegance (loved the lighting). It was such a beautiful setting. It's a real barn and there's a really cool old pond near by that we used as the setting for the ceremony. There is a huge door at the end of the dance floor that opens up to the pond. We had the owners open the door after the sun went down which added such a nice element to the reception. My photographer loved the setting. She said it was unique from her typical weddings and liked having the diversity in her portfolio. \rMy dad and mom really thought it was a great value too. We looked at several places in the dfw area. The owner, Chris, was good to work with. I could tell they had done this before. I ask for an emailed copy of their contract before I ever visited so I could get familiar with their policies and get a feel for how many do's and don'ts they had. Some of the places I visited were like talking to a rule book. I think since the owners actually run the place it works a lot better. Honestly it all went really smooth. We met with Chris & his wife Rosana a couple times and they always seemed happy to hear from us. Rosana did our engagement photos and we used them with our invitations. She provided a matted 8x10 for our guest registry. My one main concern was that I worried that the parking wouldn't be enough since we had expected 200 guests. But that went fine. The owners had two parking attendants managing the traffic everyone told me it went well.\rWe were able to bring in our own alcohol which saved us a fortune! We used their DJ (Dan). My hubby took care of all that...said it went well. Our group is very big into dancing so the DJ was important to us. They did everything I wanted and played some variety of music for the different generations. It was nice to see our parents enjoying the music too. \rMy family is from California so it was their first time to have real Texas BBQ...the food was very good. That was probably my biggest requirement. I really wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have a memorable time. Overall I would recommend this venue. We all loved it. Reviewed on 14-07-2012
Thuy Nguyen(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2012 Our overall experience with Wildscape Ranch was great. Chris worked with us to get what we wanted and was extremely flexible on a lot of things. I didn't feel like he was just looking for things to charge you on. We were able to customize our menu to be what we wanted. The food provided was some of the best I have ever had at a wedding. We were pretty confident that it would be because Chris allowed us to sample the actual food being served so there wouldn't be any doubts. We have heard of other places where the food being served was nothing like what was sampled. If you love barbecue, you will definitely enjoy this. We were also able to provide our own alcohol for the wedding and he even recommended a great place to get it from. He maintained good communication between us at all times and was able to answer all of the questions we had. The venue itself was everything we expected and more. This place was definitely a good value for the money. The only negative was that I was under the impression that he had a DJ that he worked with, but in actuality it ended up being Chris. The music was fine in the end, but I would have preferred him to be more clear. Rosanna did the pictures for us and did a wonderful job. Using her allowed us to keep the digital copies which is always a huge plus. She even made us a picture of us with a mat board frame for people to sign instead of a guestbook which was a very nice touch. Our package also included engagement photo session which was great. We even included our son in the photos so it doubled as family photos for us. Rosanna was also very easy to work with. Everyone at our wedding enjoyed themselves thoroughly and so did we. h t(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-05-2012 I got married in May at Wildscape Ranch in Mansfield, Texas. I had always wanted a barn wedding, so after searching high and low, finding this location was going to make my dream come true! \r\rInitial meeting with Chris and Rosana Vaughn was wonderful. They showed us around, told us about their packages, and we discussed cost. \r\rChris always seems preoccupied. When we talk or email, he never seems to remember what we previously discussed. I would recommend keeping a file on each bride and making detailed notes. I know it is MY most important day and not his, but it would be helpful if he remembered instead of asking the same thing several times. Chris even went so far as to confuse our wedding date…multiple times, even after us reminding him each time. \r\rGet everything in writing! There were multiple times that he would not commit to something in writing. If I asked a specific question in an email, he would completely skip over it instead of answering it.\r\rWe had multiple instances of price difference between what was stated at the first meeting and what was quoted later on. Specific pricing for the rehearsal dinner and price per person over 100 people. \r\rAt our first meeting I was told that we could set up Friday at rehearsal, finish before the wedding on Saturday, and take down everything on Sunday after the wedding. That changed later on down the road to only Friday and we could not come back on Sunday. Chris led us to believe that it would be an open door for decorating and setting up prior to the wedding. \r\rOur package included free engagement pictures with his wife Rosana. She shot our pictures and they were generally good…but not good enough to justify her asking price of $800 for wedding day photography. \r\rDuring the rehearsal Chris said he would cut back the tree near the dock as it was hitting our groomsmen in the face…he didn’t, so in all the pictures the groomsmen are ducking or hidden by the branches. \r\rMy package also included a complimentary professional DJ. I was not allowed to meet or talk to the DJ prior to the rehearsal. The DJ that showed up at the rehearsal was anything but professional and looked to be more like a high school student. She managed to botch up the music during the wedding ceremony. Nothing major, but definitely not professional. \r\rWe met with the wedding day coordinator at the rehearsal. I gave her a detailed list of the events that we would be doing and the approximate times I wanted to do them at (cake cutting, garter toss, etc.). Multiple times during the evening she would come up to me and ask me when I wanted to do something…we would then look at the schedule together, and I would say, ok, we can do this now. Then she would start to gather everyone back into the reception area. With a detailed list, this should have been avoided. Just one more thing that was very unprofessional. \r\rMy final thought is that someone working in the wedding industry should maintain a level of tenderness and care when dealing with brides on their most special day. We were assured by Chris and Rosana that they had been doing this for several years and had held dozens of weddings. They also stated that it was a learning process and they were always adjusting to new ways of doing things. I hope that they continue to grow and learn in this process of hosting weddings because their facility is truly beautiful. Reviewed on 11-06-2012
Krista Reynolds(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-05-2012 My Fiance and I went just the other day to see this venue as a potential wedding venue (ceremony and reception). It's nicely tucked away off from any main roads so you won't have any engine breaks or something in the background. The barn is beautiful and has a patio and a ceremony location next to the barn making it very accessible for everyone (especially grandparents). What I liked most about the venue though is that the owners are super flexible and friendly. They have almost everything you would need making it a one stop shop! Reviewed on 18-01-2012
